I've been working for about 30 years. but it's time it has a damn good cleanliness. when we went to lunch on Sunday, the table was sticky, the lacquer was gone and it could not be made unsticky. by cleaning; there were impressive spinnwebs on ornaments above my head, and the heat sink next to me was only ggrimy with, uh, grime of the fingers. it needs a clean one. it is not funny and charming, it is not old england, it is actually just mucky.
I have often passed this establishment, but never stopped as it was always full. It wasn't today. two of us thought a sandwich and a beer. the beef sandwich was generously filled and delicious. it also appeared very fast. the service was good and friendly. next time I'll be ready to wait, it'll be worth it.
We ate there on Sunday night 25 o'clock. my partner is vegan,I am vegetarian. he was told at the booking that there were many options. there was a vegan option, a bean-casrole. a few vegetarian options. my choice was in the veggie...option by removing the meat and discounting the bill by £0.80! the vegetarian yorkshire pudding I ordered, consisted of two small pieces broccoli, two tasteless bratkartoffels, plucked and carrots, sitting in what seemed to be a buy yorkshire pudding, with gravy. I was offered a cheese sauce, good quality, which would sit on the top of it nicely! my partner bean casserole was, he informed me, quite unimaginable! the staff was friendly, the wee was good and ny treacle pudding and custard were delicious. but we will not return.
We stopped here after a long walk. eating was moderate, but okay. the whole place was very dirty and the loos were disgusting. the tables were sticky. we thought about it, but we're so hungry. I didn't feel safe. even and was disgusting when the guy who brought the food was wearing his hand and his thumb on my teller. no mask, no ppe, only the strapped hand and thumb! I quickly cleaned the touched area of the teller with alcohol gel, but frankly, I felt that we have a great chance to eat there. I still feel uncomfortable. but I enjoyed his cake.
It's a nice pub to visit after or before a long walk in the Peak District. It's got a very cozy feel to it, very rustic. The food itself looked quite fun and was unusual but lacked taste a little.
