The burger had cheese and just lettuce, no tomato, pickle or Girkin ....£14.50 thank you very much. Vegan salad was under seasoned and average. Nice pub but food is poor and expensive. Won't be returning for food again.
Nice pub and staff, good atmosphere I ordered the fish dish advertised as hake with king prawns and samphire. After 90 minutes waiting the food came, it was lukewarm. I had Two prawns on my dish and the samphire was a mere sprinkle. Not good value for money. Won't eat there again, hardly any cheese in the cauliflower, not a difficult dish to get right is it?
This pub literary deteriorates year on year, they will kick you off your table in an otherwise empty pub because the table is “booked” On a good day the kitchen will offer “the excuse of the day” as an alternative to a menu, on at bad day they will only entertain you with a pre booking
Visited this week for a gig in the back room. It’s a lovely pub and has a cosy feel but it is quite expensive. A pint of no-alcohol Lucky Saint, for example, is £6.10! I’d think this to be on the pricey side for a normal pint but for an alcohol free version it seems a bit over the top. Anyway, it’s a nice, local pub with a cosy feel, but there are similar, cheaper places nearby.
Went for Sunday dinner and a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon. The staff were great and the place had a lovely, friendly atmosphere. It gets busy so would recommend booking!
