As a truck driver, I dine in many states. While in Shelby, NC I was fortunate to fine this amazing soul food restaurant that at one time was someone's home. That made for the great atmosphere to go along with the 2 thumbs up 5 star food. The Mac cheese, fried chicken and cole slaw were on point and we'll worth the 5 block walk where I left my truck. Had a chance to meetthe owner and give her my appreciation for the tasty food. Oh yea, Bob tail parking is available.

This should be the only listing that pops up when you Google soul food king's mountain. We had baked chicken, salmon Patties, collard greens, green beans and Mac and cheese. ALL OF IT WAS DELICIOUS. Decent serving size. Hope to go back for the ALL YOUCAN EAT special so we can try it all. Can't wait!

Passing through for work and we found this amazing spot for the best soul food of the south. You have a bit of a wait but it is worth it. Sit back, enjoy a glass of sweet tea and relax because you about to be happy and full! BTW the Mac and cheese isphenomenal!

Customer Service needs improvement. The person taking my order was the owner who spent more time talking about her sons football accomplishments.She later informed me of this in a reply to a review on the FB page. It was just constructive criticism she tookit personal telling me what other people(who she knew) thought. Irrelevant because it was my experience not theirs. I will notreturn its does not have an welcoming vibe unless you are known or a high school football fan.
