El Mexico - Shelbyville

I visited the restaurant at 6 PM on Wednesday and wanted to try the smoked chicken, but unfortunately, they were out of it. I probably should have left at that point. The appetizer was disappointing, and my orders were mixed up. Overall, the food was mediocre and overpriced. The server also appeared to be disoriented.

Tonight was a great experience. The food was very good, and our waiter was really nice. The service was a bit slow at times, but that’s to be expected on a busy Thursday.

Get $20 gift certificate for el mexico for christmas. dinner 12/29/10. bill was $17.34. intended to take the $2.66 change and add 34 cents to leave a $3.00 tipp. the cashier took the $20 gift card and dinner ticket totaling $17.34 and said thank you. I asked for the change. he said there was no refund. most restaurant gift certificates come in the form of a debit card and the balance remains on the card later used and all other gift certificates I used where there was a balance I received change.

I eat here at least once a week, and I see everyone here as friends.
