Jax - Shenandoah

My family and I visited recently for dinner and cannot recommend based on service and cleanliness.We came in on a Saturday night and at the time there were only a few tables seated already eating. My family and I order immediately and the food came out fairly quickly.I had ordered the patty melt with a side of onion rings. Unfortunately after my first bite I realized there was a long hair entangled in my onion rings. I immediately felt disgusted and told one of the young guys who was working the front.He apologized and said he would let the kitchen know and bring me out a new one. As I sat and waited a few customers started to line up and ordered.Surely you would expect my meal to be prioritized but that was not the case… I waited and watched other guests who ordered after my incident receive their food before mine…Honestly I’m a pretty patient person..even after getting hair in my food so I waited while my family almost finishes their food.After 20-30mins I had to go up as I realized all the guests who ordered their food after me received their food.To my surprised when I came up to the register no one had any idea why my food hadn’t come out. They LITERALLY FORGOT MY FOOD THAT HAD A HAIR IN IT. I was immediately furious..How do you not urgently make and bring out a customer’s food that you let a hair get in it???The cashier (who was not the original cashier) told me they could make me a new meal… but my appetite was already ruined after everything so I asked for a refund on my order which they did credit back to my cc.It seems the restaurant was being managed by younger guys. Which I get, that’s good for them to have weekend/part time jobs..but there needs to be some type of professionalism when it comes to people’s food.For the food.. from what my family had the food was good but not great.I don’t like writing bad reviews but between receiving hair in my food and the awful customer service to make a bad situation right I felt the need to.

Still great. Today I tried the steak sandwich. Needs more veggies. But still can compete with a solid and reliable burger.Kid-friendliness: Solid kid menu.

Great Burger and Cajun Chicken Sandwich. Food came out hot, fresh, and delicious. Great service and friendly staff. Highly recommend JAX! Go Hogs!

Second time here. By far a much better burger than the first time. The first visit was shortly after they opened.

This hidden gem in Shenandoah is a great place to grab lunch. The lunch special is reasonably priced and the burger delicious. Love, love the old fashioned sodas.
