We were only ones in there initially and there was a lovely log fire, which we sat next to. Asked if we could have food and was told, if we were happy to wait 30 mins, then yes, so we sat and had a lovely hot chocolate and chatted to very friendly barman. We ordered fish finger sandwich, which came with chips and salad, couldn’t fault it, the fish was battered and like a goujon, plenty of it in the sandwich. Clean toilets too. By the time we left, the place was filling up. Our experience was very good, our expectations to be truthful weren’t that high, but we were grateful that it was open at least, but overall nothing to complain about.
Avoid. Totally Underwhelming .Boring pub menu. I had Whitebait. I like a light dusting of flour or a light tempura batter. It was straight out the freezer pre breaded with a hard crust. Very unappealing. The calamari was also not freshly prepared. My son had haddock and chips. Chips were soft and floury and the fish in batter was oily and tasteless. Terrible food.
Pizzas burnt. Small portions, no bread with starters. Old oil used making calamari unpleasant. A complete shambles and overpriced for the quality of the food.
Great ecological location, enjoyed our walk. Masterbrew was ok. Food here was poor, haddock was bad. Large cod was small chips were over done. Our jug of water had something floating in it. Staff hardly present to speak to. Made comments to staff when I could, didn't seem bothered. Avoid.
Seafood platter. Very poor value for money. Frozen prawns. Tasteless. Scampi much the same. Calamari ok. Too much salad not enough if any fresh seafood.
