Unfortunately, we were not impressed by the grilled bread, whether white or brown, as we couldn't get it just right - it was either burnt or too soggy. The three cheese lasagna looked appetizing: it was cheesy, hot, and came in a large portion, although it was priced at $20. However, the meat sauce tasted the same as my wife's spaghetti sauce. Her spaghetti seemed to have a lot of sauce, which made us wonder if it was store bought. My dish had a slightly metallic taste, which left me with the same suspicion. The waitress provided great service and, with the help of the coupon, the price was fair. Despite wanting to like this place, we won't be rushing back anytime soon.
The ambiance at this restaurant was pleasant, but the food left much to be desired. Despite being an Italian restaurant, they were unable to accommodate a simple request for plain pasta for my son. Additionally, they claimed to not have olive oil and charged the same price for my seafood pasta. Unfortunately, the seafood pasta was smothered in a thick, unpleasant cream sauce. My husband's Mediterranean salad was overly saturated with dressing.
While on our way to a family gathering, we were asked to make a stop at the Ranch to pick up some spaghetti sauce. It was absolutely delicious! We loved it so much that before leaving Quebec to go home, we bought 6 liters for ourselves and more for our family. We can't wait to visit the restaurant next time we're in town to try not only the spaghetti, but also the incredible-looking pizza we saw being served. Don't miss out on this restaurant!
We went as a group of 12. We found this restaurant decently priced and generous sized portions. Our favourite was the Bread Bar. Choose your bread, grill it yourself, and add the spread(s) of your choice. What a nice touch! Another must-try is the Lemon Meringue Tart for dessert!!
The best part about this restaurant would be the bread grill, although not practical in layout (if there is more than 2-3 people at the same time you will bump in each other). The food is horrible. I believe everything is reheated before being served. Even the most basic dish of the menu, the spaghetti bolognese feels bland, the pasta is overcooked from being reheated and tastes worst than grocery bought pasta. Forget it if you like them al dente. Sauce is okay but overall bland and slighty watery. I suggest you stick with pasta if you eat there. Pizza was cold, it seems like the dough is precooked and they reheat ingredients and cheese on the already cooked dough. I really love pizza and to be perfectly honest, it was the worst I ever had (frozen pizza is better IMO). Overall quality of food is cheap. I feel it is expensive for the quality of the food. Everything I've tried on the menu seems to be reheated. Last experience convinced me never to go back. The menu is outdated and there are much better pasta/pizza restaurants close by.
