The fish is very special, I had dry aged salmon, didn’t even know that was a thing- thought the idea of fish was to be eaten as fresh as possible.... however, it was delicious, flavorful and cooked to perfection. The side dishes were fresh and seasoned beautifully. The coffee and tea variety is good but there are no desserts which is fine for me. They do have packaged cookies though.
The food was absolutely delicious. large portions. service was lovely. restaurant itself is a little storefront though.
The fish market side of The Joint looks promising. The staff is very friendly and accommodating albeit this is not a full-service restaurant (which is no issue). The food, however, is mediocre at best. Otherwise nice cuts of fish are overcooked and tasteless. Rosemary potatoes are fast-food level and deep fried. It’s a good formula for casual everyday seafood dining on Ventura and if they can get the execution of the dishes improved, may present an interesting option someday.
Amazing food , clean and fast service ...for sure going back ASAP
Chairs are much to hard. Need pillows. To uncomfortable portable for the truly great food.
