Decided to stay, picked out a table meant for 2 I was by myself. Flagged down a waiter Ratan and asked if I am going to stay for 35 min. can I get a coffee ?? This was after about 20 min without any contact from any waiters or waitresses Well I could see Ratan was hustling people coming in to sit down. Approx. 11:15 asked for my food Santa Fe Skillet he came to my table 3x to give me excuses why it took longer to bring my food to my table 31 There was people who came after me and got their food before me. No water, no how is your meal nothing. Had to ask for Ketchup, salt, pepper.
I used to enjoy Famoso, but it seems to have gone downhill. The gluten free cavoletti pizza I ordered last week smelled rancid. Thought it was the toppings (walnuts or oil). The soup was really good though. Management did make it right by providing a replacement pizza. I chose to get the large margherita GF pizza. It was soggy with a lot of flavourless sauce, congealed mozzarella and maybe all of three basil leaves. It also smelled kind of off wondering if maybe the rancid smell was the GF dough? Won’t be ordering pizza there again — there are much better choices out there!
I have eaten at a few Famoso and this was not the best. We had the prosciutto arugula pizza and the hot wings. The pizza was tasteless it had no flavor at all. The sauce was nonexistent so maybe they forgot to put it on or very little of it. Now the reason they got a 3 instead of lower was the wings they were great. Service was OK but nothing special.
Had ceasar chicken salad there last evening. Worst I've ever had. Chicken great, but salad tasted like the dressing was nothing but lemon juice. No garlic, no oil of any kind, no egg. No taste. And the cheese was the strangest tasting parmesan I've ever had. Now, their appetizers, although expensive, were wonderful Had the shrimp and it was excellent. Others at the table had cauliflower/artichoke dip. Loved it. They all had pizza and said it was great. Guess pizza is their forte!
We went here for lunch and the service was excellent. True Italian thin crust fire oven pizza. The salad with it was amazing as well. Also, best cider anywhere! Peach flavoured and not too sweet. Really good place to go!
