You can sit and eat in or order to take out. Service was very good. Two decided on the chicken while the other two decided on the brisket. The chicken was very good while the brisket was fantastic. Just enough of the home made sauce on it. There was lots of meat in the sandwich. The meat was very moist and unbelievably tasty. And so tender! They slow cook the meat in an oven visible in their kitchen. We will return! Reminded us of a BBQ chain in Texas called Dickies. My only negetive comment is the $3.25 for a bottle of pop!
Had the brisket sandwich and it was delicious, excellent food and very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend this restaurant if you love good BBQ!
Worth finding this place. Fire up your GPS. It is easy to find the shopping centre which is a maze of strip malls. And there it is. Inside is a rather unpretetious restaurant redolent with the arima of cooking smoke. In the daytime, we go to the counter to place our order. In the evening, it is all sit down table service. And I do mean service. Very friendly, helpful, attentive, without hovering. This is southern bbq and not much more. A carnivore's delight. Specially for those who like meat cooked ober fire and smoke. They offer some traditional side dishes, I like the collard greens. The portions are very large: tastey, savoury, and delicious. How good is this restaurant. My friend ate there several times with her sister. It is one of their favourites. Then my friend introduced me to their delights. The, my grandson, who had lived in Teaxas come to stay with me, and we brought him along for a welcome taste of brisket.I'll be back.
I had lunch at Memphis Blues. I had the 1/2 chicken dinner. It is a good portion of food for the money spent. It comes with cornbread, pit beans, coleslaw, and your choice of fries or potato salad. I had the fries which were amazing. If I go back I'll be trying the poutine for sure. The chicken was average, the pit beans are tasty. I've eaten here before and the ribs and pulled pork are better. The customer service is ok; you order at the till and they bring you your food but that is the last you hear from them. I may be cheap but their pop was overpriced. They have the traditional glass bottles of pop (which is a nice touch) but they are over $3 which is too much money for how much pop you get.
Tasty beans but dry meat ...overcooked over smoked I'm not sure but is that really my problem , I think that's theirs to fix and soon. Might want to try actually going to Memphis and eating there before opening up a restaurant.
