We enjoy Thai cuisine, so we decided to try this restaurant based on its generally good reviews. However, the ambiance was lacking with bright lighting and melamine tables adorned with Thai-style runners. I ordered a glass of house white wine, which had a strange aftertaste and wasn't very enjoyable. My husband requested a half pint of Tiger beer, but they mistakenly brought a pint that had to be returned. Our main dishes, a Massaman curry with salmon for me and a prawn red curry for my husband, ended up tasting almost identical and not very pleasant. My curry was overly sweet and contained large slices of potatoes, which seemed unusual for a Thai dish, along with a few tomatoes. Overall, we were disappointed with the experience and won't be returning to this restaurant.
If you enjoy Thai cuisine, then this restaurant in Lerwick is a great choice. The interior is very clean, and the staff are courteous and friendly. The menu offers a good selection of dishes that are not too spicy, making it ideal for those new to Thai food. However, as seasoned Thai eaters, we found the dishes to be somewhat underspiced. The Thai fish cakes were tasty but lacked spice, and the cold chicken satay was a bit unusual. On the other hand, the chicken massaman and sirloin steak choo chee were very good, although still slightly underspiced. The restaurant is popular with locals and also offers a good takeout option. It is worth noting that they are open on Mondays, which is a rare find in Shetland.
Absolutely awful food. Cold dry chicken satay. Something that was supposed to be a Massaman curry terrible. Even my drink was flat
Who knew such a hidden gem in Lerwick. Superb food, and exceptional value Keep up the good work Brad
