This time, I didn’t have to worry, it could not have been easier! I am vegetarian but will choose vegan options if available, my companion was more interested in meat. The lovely woman in the kitchen greeted us and asked in nearly flawless English if we were looking for vegetarian or vegan dumplings, followed that with how hungry we were to determine the number of dumplings, if we preferred fried or boiled, and asked about what we’d like to drink. We each had a plate of six dumplings (will certainly get more next time! and I don’t actually know exactly what flavors they were, but there were at least three different kinds and since I can be confident that they were all vegan, I don’t really care what was inside. They were delicious. The shop is TINY, seats six and no two chairs next to each other, takeout OK. Looking forward to going back.
Veg dumplings made by super lovely and friendly lady. There aren’t that many restaurants where they serve veg dumplings in Japan, so I was really excited about this place. Due to Covid they only have 4 seats available so I would say call in beforehand. They are also only serving dumplings at the moment. Would love to come back when the regular menu comes back !!
Delicious hand made Taiwanese style dumplings! The shop owner is a real sweetheart, and is an amazing host. Vegan/Vegetarian friendly, and very fresh produce used in each dumpling. Two plates of dumplings is plenty for 1 person. Make sure to try the vegetable fried rice, and the pork/mixed veggie dumplings
6ish seater restaurant with many menus everywhere but we were not allowed to choose what we wanted as the host just asked if we were hungry and after we said we were vegan she just chose 8 dumplings each for us. Received two of the same colourful 8 dumpling set which tasted okay. Only while we were eating (no other customers were there) did I notice a cockroach crawling over the wall and the menus posted on it. Would not return due to aforementioned cockroach, mediocre dumplings and the feeling that we couldn’t pick what we wanted. Also the bill was conjured up out of nowhere and was overpriced.
A small, out of the way restaurant, but definitely worth the trip! The gyoza are delicious, handmade, and steamed to perfect texture. The atmosphere was excellent, and the lady who served us was friendly, cheerful, and gave us one of the most memorable meals we’ve had in our years here. I would highly recommend not even looking at the menu, as she heard I was vegetarian and produced a wonderful plate of mixed gyoza. I’ll definitely be visiting again as soon as I can!
