Really delicious roast potatoes and parsnips. We would recommend Sunday lunch here. Price per person: £10–20 Recommended dishes: Beef Sunday Lunch

This is a lovely, small, and dog friendly pub in a beautiful part of Durham next to the river. The menu is fairly typical of most pubs and is well cooked and well presented. The fact that it also has a menu for dogs makes it stand out from the rest. However, we didn't find out about that until we were about to leave, which was a shame. My pooch would have loved the chicken breast. Unfortunately, she doesn't doesn't tolerate gluten well, so no sausages for her. Never mind, we will know for next time.
