The Lion and Pheasant - Shrewsbury

Wonderful find. Booked meal for anniversary celebration. Service and food outstanding. Wish we lived closer. Considering another visit to Shrewsbury just so we can relive the experience!

AMAZING loved it. Booked for anniversary having never been before and was very very impressed. My boyfriend is a very fussy eater so asked if we could order off the bar menu as he wanted a burger but that wasn't allowed at evening dining and i'm actually really glad as the steak he had was the best steak we've ever had. I had a pate parfait starter and was blown away. I had the pork belly for main and loved it!! Thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience here. The atmosphere was very good the waiters were very attentive and although it is a little more expensive than our average meal it was worth every penny!! Highly recommended for special occasion or a treat!

There were 6 of us, including several 'discerning ' diners. We all enjoyed a most memorable meal, the food and wine were outstanding and the staff attentive without being intrusive. I would struggle to find any adverse comment, even the bill was reasonable in view of the standard of the cuisine. What a pity that Shrewsbury is so far from home!

I couldn't leave Shrewsbury without a second visit to this gem of a restaurant. Yet again, excellent food and service from friendly and helpful staff. Highly recommend the slow cooked cod with hay smoked pommel purée delicious. I have already recommended the Lion and Pheasant to friends and family and will be back later in the year myself.
