One look at the well constructed menu (I work in the hospitality business in the States) and we decided that the walk from the canal with the kids was worth it. Great beers. Great food. Great staff. The other customers were just fantastic. We watched the England v Holland game and one of the customers gave us a lift back to our boat. Best evening of the holiday. Keep up the good work, you have a magnificent pub!
Fantastic food, the large pie is a big eat but well worth it.
Food freshly cooked did not wait long although very busy. First time visit, will call again really lovely food. Thank you.
Felt that this was a pub for locals. Went to the bar to order and it was full of people standing round it drinking and no one moved to let me in to order even though everyone was already served. We asked if the curry could be changed to mild and was told it could but it wasn't. The sausages were too rich for my dogs tummy. My dinner seemed to have pepper in it even though it was sausage and mash.
Everything at the restaurant was wonderful and delicious. However, I was disappointed with the black pudding stack as the black pudding was too thin and was overshadowed by the other flavors in the dish. When it's called a black pudding stack, I expect the black pudding to be the star. I would love to go back again for another meal.
