Bernie's Diner - Siaton

We were there July 1st 2024 FOR lunch. We ordered food from their menu. Boy, it took almost an hour waiting for food to be served. It's LOUSY service. I went to Bernie 's this morning because it 's close to home and I didn 't want to bother Maisie to make me breakfast. I sat down and ordered from the breakfast all day menu, which had about 10 items, 4 or 5 of which were not available , as per usual! I ended up ordering 1 egg, 2 SMALL chorizo strips, and told the server I didn 't want the rice! I also ordered 2 cups of brewed coffee, as I don 't expect refills over here, with cream and sugar. The menu claimed the breakfast was P97, the coffee was P75 a piece... To my way of thinking (normal thinking) the total came to less than P300 pesos... When I paid the bill, the waitress said it was P480, which I assume was a case of foreigner taxation ! I handed her a P1000 peso bill and received 1-200 peso bill, 100-peso bill and about 87 pesos in change! Suffice it to say I 've had better service and a better breakfast at McDonald 's!

Drop by for lunch from Santa Catalina. We ordered grilled chicken, shrimp kabab, some specialty sandwich. The decor is American (restaurant name flag), but the service is 100% Filipino. In an American restaurant, the drinks would come out first, then the food. But drinks only come out when we request for it! Parking is decent as there are enough spaces in the Shell gas station next door. The specialty sandwich is buttery, spam sliced, scramble egg and cheese make a great snack! The shrimp kabab sits on bed of Spanish tomato rice is very good! The grilled chicken is a bit scrawny and little burnt. Flavor is good but hard just to chew on chicken bones for lunch.
