City Winery Riverwalk - side

Stopped in here for a drink to get out of the pouring rain. We followed the sign directing us to the bar ordered paid for 2 drinks. When we went to sit down we were told by the host we weren’t allowed to sit at a table “unless we ordered more stuff”. We had just paid $35 for 2 drinks and weren’t sure if we wanted to stick around or not. When I told the host I wasn’t sure if we would order anything else she said all the tables are saved for reservations or people who are ordering more. I get that if it’s busy but at the time they had at least 15 tables open and it was not busy at all. We would also have been happy to move if they needed the table but instead she suggested we sit outside in the pouring rain to have our drinks. We managed to find one partially covered table outside so went and sat down. The security guard came over and insisted on wiping the table which was very nice and we appreciated the gesture. The manager then came over- I think to apologize- but just reiterated what the host said which was actually just annoying and seemed to have missed the point that making people sit out in the rain when it’s not busy after they just bought 2 drinks there is poor customer service. Their sign clearly leads you to the bar and it was not obvious that this would be an issue. It seems like a nice spot and I’m sure this was a one off but unfortunately our experience was not a positive one overall. The 2 stars is for the security guard that wiped our table!

We were walking by the river and decided to get some margaritas. They were good but served with a lot of ice and not a lot of mixture. Thought the cocktails were really expensive for what they served us. The brisket tacos were really amazing! The service was not that great but maybe because it was so busy. Nice atmosphere near the river. I don’t think I’d repeat this place but it was a nice experience overall

Very misleading, some of the good food was only for catering, but besides that nothing else to eat!

I only got a beer, we were able to sit down on the benches in front of the winery watching the boats and the high buildings from across the river. I think a glass of beer is a little overpriced but it was worth it to be in the area enjoying the view and the

Sat at the table over 20 minutes but nobody served us.
