House Of Szechwan In Bellefonta - side

Food is great, we get it at least once a week. Only problem is, when we call in our order their phone is set to go to voicemail. I have told the person working the orders many times, they seem to be upset and claim they are getting calls from others.

This is a really good restaurant; we eat there fairly often. The sushi is excellent (better towards and through the weekend, but that’s par for the course). You get far more than what you pay for. I enjoy almost all the dishes; some are not my thing but you can’t enjoy everything. The staff are pleasant and attentive. The only thing that I have a true issue with is that they say they are open at 11am…. This must be for delivery because any time we arrive before 3pm, the front door is open but the same guy, sitting in the front, shoes us away angrily. So don’t expect to dine in for lunch. They are close to a 5-star, just not quite there… Update…. They have made a 5 star rating. There is no better blended Asian restaurant for at least 50 miles from Bellfountain

Absolutely disgusted about how we were treated. We come in about an hour and a half before closing and they did not come take our drink orders for about 25 minutes. It was like they purposely wouldn’t look at us, and the restaurant was practically empty. We finally get our waters and one of them is completely terrible, extremely salty and not drinkable at all. Our food comes out and we had gotten some to go stuff and the food overall was dry and not good. except for the sushi which was fine. The worst part was when we went to pay the waitress told us we had to tip her, and we could not write zero. I tip based on service, but she was literally over my shoulder watching me saying that i wasn’t allowed not to tip. Not only that but a member of our party paid with cash, and she simply told him she was keeping his change as a tip. did not give him the option. Terrible.

Waitress was very rude, gave her a 2 dollar tip (no one has a bunch of money to spend at the moment) and was trying to get more by complaining saying I usually get 20% my friend gave her 7 and my other friend doesn’t usually tip, the last time my friends were there she followed them out trying to get them to give her tips. Other than that the food was great just a bad experience. Be grateful you even got anything.

I’ve been eating here for about 8 months now, It’s your average American Chinese restaurant, with average prices, and average atmosphere. Their website says they’re the BEST Chinese steakhouse in Ohio and that’s just obviously not true. Altogether I give them a 4/5~ Make sure not to ask how long it’ll be till your food is ready after they already tell you, otherwise you’ll be made a fool of/embarrassed.
