Our waitress (Marnie I believe was her name) was great and very friendly. The only downside to our evening was the one guy who came with our bill didn?t know how to take our payment and left 3 times and when he came back, asked me to do the math on my own phone to figure out what the price was to add both bills together. With him leaving multiple times, it made it take quite awhile to actually leave the restaurant. Other than that, great experience.
Well I tried to get a coffee and pastry. But the 3 young women running the show today had other ideas. And after 10 minutes I left. I met another couple on the patio that had a similar situation today as well as before this one. They will not be coming back for a while either. So for them that was 2 strikes. Too bad but this place is in need of a supervisor. All those empty tables with one of the best locations in Sidney should tell you something is wrong. Hope you fix it, good coffee and pastry.
Great Squid and Pork Belly appetizer, good beer selection, Great Staff! Have the best location in Sydney
The food was very good. We had pizza, bruschetta and cheesecake for dessert. We were staying at the Sidney Pier hotel, so we did a pick up order and brought the food to our room. They provide disposable cutlery, but no plates. Since they aren't part of the hotel, they don't give out their plates. There were 4 of us sharing the food, so plates would have been nice. I suggest they keep a supply of disposable plates on hand for hotel guest take out orders.
Ten Acres Cafe is much like the restaurant. Overpriced and terribly managed. At the cafe the staff are beyond polite but are treated very poorly by management. I?ve seen management argue with staff and then take their tips. I?ve seen management scream at the staff and swear in front of customers. The cafe is understaffed as it seems they struggle to keep employees. The coffee is far too expensive for the quality. Food is far too expensive for the quality as well. The only thing Ten Acres cafe has is the great location. I hope to see a better cafe with better management and products in the future.
