We are new to the community and have been very pleased with the level of care and attention for our father in memory care. The staff is accommodating in every way, for example serving my father the foods he especially enjoys. His caretakers are well-trained in dementia and value dignity and purpose for the residents. One of my father's caretakers, Martha, has spent extra time to keep us up-to-date on my father's activities, mood, and needs; she shares photos and stories and makes herself available to us as needed. The staff is well supported by an administration that is approachable. Amber and Leandra have patiently guided us through the start of this journey. Clearly those who work at the Kensington enjoy their jobs and support each other. We are thankful to have found this home for our father.
My mom lived at Kensington in Assisted Living for 18 months, and moved out last week. We hoped this would be her forever home, but communication among staff and with us was very poor. Nurses station would rarely answer phones, and responses to emails or phone messages were slow or non-existent. The facilities' common areas are lovely, staff are kind and pleasant, but resident's rooms are very tiny and claustrophobic.I see your response, Cc. My mom is settling in well at her new place, thank you. My review is about the lack of communication with us about medical care and status. Some examples are: we weren't informed when she was assigned a new doctor, communication with the doctor was through the unresponsive nursing staff, when tests were ordered by the doctor we were not informed and would not receive results until more than a month later, and after my mom's surgery the doctor's orders for wound care weren't carried out and nursing staff didn't know whether they had been or not and did not have written records of what they had done by an earlier shift. In short, although I was taking my mom to all her specialists appointments, there was a impenetrable barrier between family (us) and the daily, primary care she was receiving at Kensington.
I currently have 4 clients residing at The Kensington Sierra Madre. All receive exceptional care. The entire staff is attentive and make my clients feel totally at home. I am so comforted knowing they live in such a wonderful facility.
My friend's mom is living here. Although we haven't been able to visit as much due to the pandemic but prior to, and as things are opening up, we have enjoyed the ambiance. It is clean and bright. Her mom is happy. The place is clean. The employees seem happy to help. Love the location as it is within walking distance to places we can take mom out. The food is not bad either.
