Savoy has been on my list for a while and now finally I got the opportunity to visit, and even though it was the most expensive single meal I have had anywhere, it was still an amazing experience and worth it, even if it will be a long time before I can even think about doing it again. Five course Grand menu with Sommeliers wine package was a delight, and I recommend having it as a surprise for added enjoyment. All courses were excellent, wines innovative and interesting and the staff a perfect combination of fine dining professionalism and comfortable friendliness. With the escort to the elevator on departure, napkins folded during rest room breaks, palate resfresheners between courses etc. it is very traditional upscale restaurant without being stuffy. Views over Esplanadi were great and I do not actually have any complaints at all. Extra points for ice cubes with the print on them ;
We expected so much more from Savoy where there should have been a consistent quality to the meals. Some meals were fabulous and others mediocre. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our son ordered an entree which the ingredients were not explained. It came out laced in cheese and while that may be the dish, he doesn’t eat cheese. I was disappointed with the wine. I had it by the glass and was going to have 2 glasses. However the wine I chose, for the 2nd glass the bottle ran out after a quarter off a glass. The waiter said nothing so I asked the Sommelier. He stated this shouldn’t have happened and I wouldn’t be charged for the 2nd glass. Wrong. Our bill showed 2 glasses which I only saw when I got home. Clearly no communication by the staff internally. Overall recommendation, if you want to go to a high end expensive restaurant and get a great experience, Savoy is not the place to go.
Service , atmosphere , food, view from the terrace everything is just perfect in this place. Definitely worth the price be ready to spend at least 400 euros for two people tasting menus plus matching drinks . I would highly recommend this place.
Fixed price menus only. We chose 3 courses for 93 Euro. They said if we only wanted two courses they'd only charge for two. Fois Gras mousse with berries was simply divine as was the bread on the table and with it. Duck well cooked with delicious sauce and red cabbage chanterelles superb. Tarte Tatin with exceptional vanilla ice cream and calvados sauce made me want to lick the plate.
