The portions are huge, there is no way we could manage three courses, and it's freshly cooked. The patron is friendly, and will always manage to accommodate his regulars - very useful if you turn up just after a party of thirty cyclists! With its beach side setting, this doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't, but is very food for a family meal, and older children can be sent to play on the beach whilst the adults relax over coffee.
This restaurant has lots going for it - open nearly all the time (unusual for this part of France) including Sundays, live music regularly, a wide menu choice, mostly very good food and inexpensive. The "mostly good food" is a result of their success though as in high summer it gets very crowded and inevitably standards drop. Forgot to mention, it's next to the (lakeside) beach at Silla Plage. But this doesn't detract from our enjoyment as we eat here regularly throughout the year.
We ate twice at this lovely restaurant in a spectacular setting during a recent stay in the area. The owner and staff are always very warm and welcoming and attentive to your needs and the food is freshly prepared. Lovely views of the lake and beach area with plenty of seating inside or outdoors.
We enjoyed a lunch here on a quiet Wednesday in September. We order two omelettes, which were served with chips and a dressed side salad. We also ordered two coffees and an orangina – our bill of about 23 Euros was good value for money. Portions were large, the restaurant and toilets were clean, and service was friendly and efficient. Everyone else seemed happy with their meals, and the atmosphere was pleasant.
Food is pretty average, but you are limited for choice so it's ok for a meal. Bit pricey for what you get but there is entertainment there most nights and the kids can have a run on the 'beach' while you drink. I would avoid the kids' meals though - my son got two slices of packet ham with chips. Better to share an adult meal.
