I came for Friday night West Coast Swing lessons and it was so much fun. It was a huge group of people, but it is a huge space. The trainers were fantastic. You have a good system start at 7:30. Intermediate lessons at 8:15. It is nice that at this time beginners move into another room for a training session with the instructors. At 9 p.m. the social dance begins. There are tables in the back and food / drink. The people who come here are really friendly. I will definitely be back even though it's a 40-minute drive for me.
This place was checked because a friend told us how the first Friday of the month has free Western swing dance classes. I was so impressed that they had a great turn and the teachers did a great task to teach the basics, but have classes for all different levels! In any case, all their classes will try again. You also have salsa, jazzercise, ballroom, etc.. Make sure to bring cash when you want to come, usually they do not take credit cards. They also have a bar only cash and usually offers snacks and drinks.
I've occasionally come to Hollywood Ballroom since 2014 to dance couples. I enjoy the Friday night West Coast Swing Party (7:30 p.m.) For an entrance of $15 you will get refreshments, a group class of beginners, a middle group class and DJ music to dance to the wee hours. Group lessons are always excellent. The Sunday Ballroom Party (7 11:30) is also fun. The last few times I was there, the $16 entrance got me snacks (but no drinks including wine and beer could be bought from the bar), a group class and DJ music to dance until 11:30. The group lessons are shot among several instructors, some I liked more, a little less. The best deal at Hollywood is the Thursday Tea Dance (12:30 3:30) where you dance for just $8 reflections DJ music for three straight hours. On holidays there is usually a vacation tea dance for $10. With a 6,400 square meter floor, Hollywood Ballroom has the largest studio floor in DC Metro Station.
Great place to dance Salsa/bachata in the DMV. 's: Many solid DMV area instructors give 2 classes (1 salsa, 1 bachata usually) in the main ballroom before social dance on Saturday nights, which for the $15 ticket check in with the Mr. Mambo 's meet up group to get $3 off entrance large dance floor and good floors good quality air conditioning to make you park before sweating too much Many good dancers regularly show 2 rooms 1 bachata, 1 Salsa (Salsa finds in the main ballroom, much larger space) Many tables to take a place and rest the feet for a few minutes upward Free water hydrate after dancing the night away 's: Not a super central location, especially for DC residents bachata space is a little small and not the main focus of Mr. Nights
Out of all the vendors we had for our wedding, this was the one my husband and I now call the diamond in the rough. It was by accident that we found this venue and even though the outside building may not look like much, the ballroom inside was beautiful! The staff there made everything run so smoothly for us and the coordinator Claire was a dream! She answered every email promptly with all the information we needed and was so patient with our never ending questions and requests. She was so caring and made sure we were taken care of! The ballroom on the day of the wedding looked AMAZING!!! It was better than anything we could have imagined with the lights and the tulle curtains and shining wood floors. The area was perfect for our ~400 guests and there was no issue with space. It was truly a blessing that we stumbled upon this place and I hope that more people come here to have their wedding receptions! Thank you Hollywood Ballroom!!
