Dooleys Waterview Club - SILVERWATER

Yesterday we and a friend had dinner at this club, having chosen it for its quiet location and hoping that there would be plenty of parking, which there was.One had Salt and Pepper squid as an entree, which he enjoyed, commenting on the high quality and tastiness of the squid. The mains were generous and delicious. The fish, barramundi, and chips were impressive, and two of us had the lamb shanks, slow cooked in red wine and tomatoes, and served with creamy mash and peas .... melt in your mouth meat, filling and yummy. After a break, we had desserts, one chocolate mousse, and to churros with chocolate sauce. Too good! The staff at the club were very polite and friendly, and, as it was our visit, explained that we had a choice of dining area, the family area or the distinct " adults only" area. It was a Monday night, and there were not very many people there, but we did use the adult area, which was very quiet, allowing for plenty of friendly conversation. We were told that the menu changes four times a year, and the seasonal Spring menu will begin at the beginning of September. The menu is easy to find on the club website, and I would advise joining the club, at the cost of five dollars, which is recouped easily in one visit, due to generous member discounts on all food and drinks. We are not big drinkers, but did buy a bottle of Rothbury Estate merlot, from the smallish, but good, wine list, it was a good choice!

We attended with a mixed group, service was good and atmosphere pleasant with a piano being played in the background, bar and restaurant worked well, some food was a little over done but most were happy

Overall we were very disappointed with mainly the servings on the dinner menu at Dooleys. Having dined there on several occasions previous the servings were minute. I chose the pork & as there were no accompanying vegetables etc I was not satisfied. The side dishes which were an added expense were also small in quantity. However we didn't avail ourselves of any other courses. Hope things improve!

Went there for a birthday dinner. Waited ages for staff to take our order. After waiting for about half an hour they brought half the meals out first then we waited for over an hour for the remaining meals to arrive. Two large tables which were one group who arrived after us got their meals while we were waiting for the remainder of ours to arrive. When we asked what was happening we were told our meals were coming now, which wasn't true because we waited another 10 minutes for them. A couple of the meals then arrived cold & we waited again while the rest of the meals slowly trickled to our table. While some of us were still eating they were clearing plates around us of those that finished. After we had just finished eating & had the birthday cake we were told very rudely by a waitress that she needed us to leave because she needed to set up the restaurant for Mother's Day lunch the next day. When we complained that we were late finishing because the meals were late arriving she rolled her eyes at us, huffed off & stood waiting at another table until we left. It made for a very uncomfortable evening & ruined the birthday occasion. We have given this place too many chances now because the location suits us,the decor is nice & the setup is good for the kids but the service is so bad it's time to explore other options. The food is also very average for the prices they charge which I could live with if the service was good but the attitude of the staff is just unpleasant. Don't bother with this place, there are many other better options nearby that are more respectful to you & your wallet. Don't let them ruin your next family occasion too.

We are regulars to this club whilst not living nearby. It can take us 30 minutes or more to get to the club but because it always has a great and changing menu and is generally a quiet place for a drink and a chat we keep coming back. The staff are always friendly and obliging and up for a chat. Club fees are ridiculously cheap and the club is a big supporter of local groups. A nice place that we keep coming back to
