The spaghetti is particularly delicious. I have never had a bad meal here, whether dining as a couple or in a group. There are no complaints to be had. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. The staff is very friendly and the interior, while a bit dated, is very clean. We plan on becoming regular customers.
Simcoe has been around since the 70s and is known as a go-to spot for special occasions. However, my recent experience was disappointing. I ordered the Western omelette and soup special, but both dishes fell short. The eggs in the omelette were burnt and the soup had an unexpected bone left in it, along with barely melted cheese on top. The server never checked in on us to see how our meal was. The atmosphere of the restaurant has remained unchanged since the 70s, giving it a dingy and dark feel. It seems like the place is slowly fading away and no one seems to care. I would recommend looking for a better dining option elsewhere in the city.
The waiting staff never lets you wait for something. service is great. if they are with a group, this is the place to go due to the variety of menus. Best hot beef sandwich! or you can have fish, pasta, truthahn, suppe, chicken finger or pigeon. try to save space for a piece of cake!
This little jewel of a restaurant doesn't get all of the credit it deserves but survives and grows by word of mouth of customers. Nothing fancy, nothing elaborate but mouth watering great foods and a lot of home made dishes. It is noted for its'...famous soups delicious dinners.
A sit down meal that feels like a family dinner. Delicious food, good service. Hearty meals that leave you full.
