Bertolo's Pizza - Simpsonville

While visiting from Georgia, I stopped by and ordered the Antipasto and pepperoni pizza. Both were incredible, fresh, and delicious!

I've encountered this issue only once before, but they quickly made me a new dish, and the owner was very understanding about it. Tonight, though, when I called to address the problem, I spoke with Maria, the manager, who essentially called me a liar, insisting that the dish contained only tomato sauce. The entire situation was quite bizarre, especially since I frequent this restaurant and would have expected her to at least somewhat recognize me. Having worked in the restaurant industry for fifteen years, I understand that mistakes can happen. What I cannot comprehend is being accused of dishonesty when all I wanted was to return the incorrect dish for what I actually ordered. I refuse to eat food containing meat after not consuming it for years, so the meal ended up in the trash. I was genuinely offended by her insistence that I was not being truthful. Her unprofessionalism escalated the situation to the point where I had to get quite upset just to receive a refund—which I didn't even want; I simply wanted the food I ordered. While the rest of the staff was very kind and apologetic, Maria engaged in a contentious discussion over two phone calls regarding a $9 dish of ziti. I’ve included a photo to show that a mistake was indeed made, and that's acceptable. However, how she handled the situation and spoke to me was not.

Great pizza! Two slices for lunch will definitely keep you satisfied. The staff were very friendly.

This place will always be the best local Italian joint there is. i always love the food it?s always legit, and fresh. It?s just the better place to go too. The customer service is always excellent!!!! :

Bertolo's is a great neighborhood pizzeria. They've got New York style pizza and Sicilian. They also offer hot and cold subs, calzones, pasta dishes, garlic knots and I think canolis. I usually get one of the lunch specials if I eat in. If you're in the area, I'd recommend stopping by and checking out Bertolo's.
