The staff is welcoming, friendly, and polite, promptly clearing away our finished plates. I ordered a variety of smaller buns in addition to the traditional kaya bun set with egg and coffee, which I think is a missed opportunity for the restaurant. Ranking my favorites from best to least, the food was as follows: 1. Hei Bi Hiam Bun (prawn paste) 2. Luncheon Meat Bun 3. Kaya Butter Bun (set) 4. Cheese Chocolate Brownie 5. Gula Melaka Chervon (recommended by staff, but it was just average) 6. Cream Horn Puff (popular among reviews but out of stock when I visited; I’m not a fan because I dislike how crumbs fall everywhere when you take a bite, and my fiancée doesn’t like cream). Their Coffee O and Yuan Yang were decent, but they could be served hotter. I would have liked to upsize my drink if I had known larger cups were available. It was a bit disappointing to queue just for a small cup. The staff or cashier should offer upsizing options; first-time visitors might not be aware of this. Overall, I have more positive impressions than negatives, so I’m giving it 5 stars. Happy weekend!
I used to visit this nostalgic place regularly before it closed down. Its reopening has brought it a fresh vibe with a revamped image and new menu items. Today, I paid a quick visit with colleagues for coffee after lunch. The homemade Kaya on the bread tastes just as good, if not better, than I remember. I also enjoyed the luncheon meat bun, and I hope to return soon to try the other types of bread on offer.
This classic kopitiam offers traditional eggs, coffee, and toast. The PB chocolate tart is a delightful surprise—it's incredibly delicious! The tart shell is buttery and crisp, while the filling is smooth and rich in chocolate flavor. The kaya and butter toast is, as always, a must-try. I do wish the coffee had a bit more intensity and flavor, but overall, it's a fantastic spot for breakfast, provided the line isn't too long.
A quaint neighbourhood stall with local coffee and snacks. Non air conditioned, and is suitable for anyone who wants to have a taste of good cakes. Recommended: coffee, yuan yang and coffee ciffon cake.
Traditional breakfast set is at rooftop level. Egg is perfectly half boiled and cooled for ease of serving. Generous kaya on top of soft traditional bread. Coffee blended well. Just need to bear with the long queue in the morning.
