I kid you not, this is probably the best egg mayo sandwich in Singapore. At $9, it probably isn't for everyone but it is definitely worth it. The white shokupan is extremely fluffy and airy, and I did not regret spending one cent buying it home! However, some people may argue the need for a $10 loaf of white bread. That being said, if you ever decide to splurge, please do yourself a favour and get these. I hear they sell out early afternoon too.
Delicious bread! Don't miss out on the purple rice Shokupan! It is such a tasty loaf that I enjoy on its own (no toast, no spread). The texture is so light, soft and chewy and I can easily eat through an entire loaf myself. Magic of the moon is also lovely (it tastes better than it looks). I'll always drop by to buy some bread when I'm in the area.
Ate the egg sandwich before we could take a picture of it. Love how refreshingly cold the egg salad was. Temperature is so important for takeout food and they’ve done it really well! Bread was soft, light and fluffy, not soggy. As for the shokupan, we decided to ignore the instructions and toasted them instead (we’ve an amazing balmuda steam toaster). It was heavenly— bread was still chewy and fluffy below the crispy exterior! Our cat enjoyed it too
Thank you #MiyazakiSan #KanjiPhysicalJapan from whom I tasted the fluffy mochi bread from #FineDiningBakery. Few days later, journeyed to the bakery. Enjoyed the chit chat with the lady queuing for the opening of the bakery. Pleasant service from the staff too. #StrawberryCreamCheeseCroissant #CoffeeBlack #FluffyShokupan #BaguetteRogueForRedWine #BaguetteRogueForWhiteWine #GrainWhiteBread #PleasantStaff #FineDiningBakery -12 Aug 2021
Akira San makes the best Shokupan in Singapore. I am such a huge fan of this bread that I can eat it alone without any filling on it! The egg mayo sandwich is great. I always buy a loaf home when I'm in the area. It's not cheap but anyone whom I give a piece to always raves about it to me as well! His shop is so underrated but he definitely deserved more credit for the bread that he churns out!
