The drinks are affordable, we also ordered nachos the last time we went crispy with lots of meat and sauce layered on top NOMS. Sitting outside's comfortable, I count myself lucky when I sit at Harry's and the background noise is just the football match on TV and not from a live band those are so annoying. The outdoors at the Boat Quay outlet is exceptionally breezy, perhaps because the bar's sitting on the edge of Singapore River. Literally the edge one too many beers and one could just topple backwards and land in either the stone steps or into the river itself. The service's decent, though when the waitress asked my friend if he wanted some more, she pointed at herself instead of the restaurant, which was in the same direction. Didn't find it as funny as I did? Never mind.
For drinks, I tried Harry's 1992, a vodka-based drink with blue curacao, lychee liqueur, grapefruit juice, and grenadine syrup. The Harry's Bellini had peach schnapps, sliced peaches, and grenadine syrup, while the Eye Candy had vodka, watermelon liqueur, and lemon juice. The Cute-Cumber was a refreshing cucumber and mint mocktail, while the Peach Cooler was a soda drink with peach slices. For food, I tried Harry's Signature Wings, Crisps Royale, Soy-Glazed Beef Cubes, Curried Mayo Pork Bites, Shriracha Seafood Flatbread, Mushroom Truffle Oil Flatbread, Cold Soba Summer Salad, Slow-Braised Beef Cheeks, and Fillet o' HARRY. For dessert, I had the Adult Cheesecake Sundae, which had cheesecake and a side of Baileys. The food was delicious and the portions were generous, but service was a bit slow due to the crowd. Overall, Harry's is a great place to enjoy tasty food and drinks in a cozy atmosphere.
Harry's in Boat Quay is a fantastic spot for hosting big gatherings. Recently, my fellow alumni from Duke University and I had a get-together to watch the Duke-UNC Basketball game, which is known as one of the most intense college basketball rivalries in the United States. Thankfully, Duke won 88-77 during my visit, so it seems Harry's might just bring good luck! The back area with three long tables and a large projector screen is ideal for watching games. Guests can enjoy their meals while getting caught up in the excitement of crucial moments in the game. For American sports fans like us, it can be tough to catch primetime games in the early morning. Luckily, Harry's opens at 7:30am to accommodate those dedicated enough to wake up early for the games. Before planning a large gathering, it's advisable to check Harry's website for the viewing schedule. The food at Harry's is average, as expected from a bar. Unfortunately, the service is lacking. During my visit, two breakfast orders were forgotten and I was asked to settle my bill immediately after receiving my food. When I inquired, the staff mentioned they were unable to keep track of orders with such a large group. Despite the service hiccups, Harry's remains a great spot for watching sports, especially during unconventional hours.
I went to this restaurant with some friends to watch a rugby match and found it to be surprisingly empty. This worked out well for us as we preferred a quieter atmosphere. However, it was a bit strange considering the other pubs in the area were quite full. The service was lacking in some aspects. The food was good, with some healthy options available. As someone from the US, I was taken aback by the high beer prices, although they may be standard for Singapore. Overall, it was a decent place to watch the match and grab a meal.
