The flavors and quality of the dishes were spot on, and it was clear that the team put a lot of thought into the menu. I definitely want to try more of their food in the future. The service and ambiance were great as well—it's a wonderful place to wine and dine with friends!
What a delightful restaurant! The atmosphere is wonderful, and the service is exceptional. The food is absolutely fantastic; I was particularly smitten with their tenderloin and my personal favorite dessert, the Basque Cake! The staff was incredibly welcoming, and the chefs were so friendly and willing to chat, even amidst their busy schedule. I can't express enough gratitude for the outstanding dining experience. This place definitely deserves a five-star rating!
I scored the best seats in the house at the counter, where I got to watch all the action in the kitchen. Chef Ben provided some fantastic recommendations! The gambas were incredibly fresh, and the garlic aioli was a perfect complement to the dish; next time, I'm definitely ordering a portion for myself instead of sharing it as a starter! The French duck magret was cooked to perfection, with a beautifully charred skin and no gamey flavor whatsoever. The sides of Brussels sprouts and potatoes cooked in duck fat were also impressive—so delicious and satisfying! Don't miss out on the Basque cake; it's 100% worth the calories! A special shout-out to Chris and the rest of the service crew for their hospitality. I can’t wait to return and try more of the menu!
We ordered two white wines (options three and four on the wine list) and one red, all of which paired nicely with our dishes. However, the Basque sausage was quite tough, and even after the staff cooked it longer, it was still hard to eat. They noticed we hadn’t finished it and kindly took it off our bill, recognizing that it was too tough. This was a fantastic example of excellent service recovery, on top of their already great service. I will definitely be returning!
Kinou is an incredible discovery and a must-visit for anyone who loves French cuisine and wants to experience something unique! The menu also features Basque influences with a variety of delicious dishes. Some of my favorites include the duck bao, gambas with squid ink, and the steak tartare. Don't miss the Basque mac ‘n’ cheese and the Basque cake—they're exceptional! Most importantly, the service is outstanding. A big thank you to Chris and Chef Ben for always taking such great care of us. Looking forward to our next visit!
