We had palak paneer (pureed spinach and cheese and what about the origins of chicken tikka masala and butter chicken? It's so interesting to find out about the history of our food and the culture behind them. The fish head curry is a must! We had a small one but I alone can eat half of it. It's that delicious! They could give us more ladies fingers : The complaint if any is that they forgot to put in or ran out of the papadum (unlikely which my grands were looking forward to in their Indian meal.
We ordered Manchurian chicken, and it came hot and superb. A bit spicy but it's fine. We also ordered lamb chop and black squid to be eaten with butter naan and white rice. They were all great although I was expecting the squid to be super black like how we can find in Malaysia. We also tried mango lassi, indian chai and masala chai, nothing disappointing. The ambience was cozy too. All waiters were attentive although there were many customers. Will definitely come again.
Upon arrival, the staff promptly guided me to my table and quickly returned to take my order. After just a short wait of about five minutes, the appetizers were served, preceded by two complimentary jugs of water— a thoughtful touch, especially since many restaurants tend to charge excessively for bottled water. The Samosas came with a delightful chili sauce. They were perfectly fried, with a deliciously crisp shell and flavorful potato filling. Next up was the Garlic Naan, which I enjoyed on its own, but was primarily excited about as an accompaniment to the Fish Head Curry. When the award-winning curry arrived, the aroma was incredible, enough to make anyone's mouth water. The fish head was sizable and fresh, with firm flesh that paired beautifully with the naan. Each bite was exquisite and truly heavenly. The staff then offered rice, and I decided on Biryani Rice. It was wonderfully fluffy and tasty, served with lentils and vegetables. Combining the rice with the curry and vegetables was an excellent choice that left me feeling very satisfied. I've been visiting this restaurant every time I'm in Singapore for their famous fish head curry, and I can confidently say it’s an iconic dish. The fish head comes with a generous amount of tender neck meat, so even the smaller portion is quite satisfying. Once you’ve gotten the meat off the head and onto your plate, be sure to smother it in the rich, aromatic curry broth. Pair it with a good serving of white rice to soak up all that delicious sauce. I also ordered a dry shrimp curry and butter naan, both of which were delightful. But honestly, that fish head curry is the star of the show!
We always enjoy ordering the curry fish head; it's incredibly flavorful and hearty. Additionally, we love the chicken tikka masala, biryani, and cheese naan. It's on the pricier side, but the dishes are definitely worth it.
