Overall good quality has maintained, various types of curry all has its uniqueness and not super spicy. Makes me want to eat tons of rice to go with the various delicious curry (even though my current diet is cutting down on carbs). Only thing is their beef rendang is slightly on the dry side so would prefer if can be more tender and soft. Overall, would definitely recommend for curry lovers.
An authentic Nasi Padang restaurant in the central area. The curries are rich in flavours. Price is on the high range but given the location, we suppose it can’t be too cheap thou. Worth a try!
It had been a few years since I last ate here the very first time I did was at the old Rendevous Hotel in the Rochor area and I was looking forward to lunch here with my brother in law. The food did not disappoint, and the taste was almost as remembered. The begedils were large and full of flavour, while the sotong was fresh and cooked perfectly. Overcooked squid can be rubbery, but this dish was really good. The brinjal was also tasty, and came with chilli on the side. The chicken curry was good, though the chicken pieces were smaller than expected. The beef rendang was, surprisingly, our least favourite, as the pieces were hard and the rempah not too tasty. The cucumber salad went well with the various curries and rice. Overall, the price was reasonable at $48, and service was efficient. Ordering is easy you select the food and quantity you want at the counter in front and staff will bring the dishes to your table.
As an overseas visitor to Singapore, coming here is a fantastic cultural experience! With a name like this, you wouldn't expect it actually served up excellent Indonesian style Nasi Padang?! There are great varieties and prices are reasonable for Singapore. My personal favorites are beef rendang, korma chicken, begedel and lodeh. Their chendol is creamy and delicious too. For visitors to Singapore, apart from the usual chilli crab, bakuteh etc try to add this place to your list as well. The service is friendly and very efficient.
I haven't been to this restaurant in 30 years. They have since moved to Clarke Quay. The food remains the same. My favourite are the jumbo shrimp. We also stuffed ourselves with sayar lodeh, curry vegetables, beef rendang, baggadail. The place was quite empty despite the good food and view.
