Villa Craft Beer Bread - Sintra

Here for lunch, while in sentra, friendly service, good choice of beer and unusual feeds (like filled rolls cooked in a wood oven, as well as mini pizza.) the goat cheese mini pizza was so good that we had to have a 2nd! be warned that they only take cash to which we were not prepared, contactless were used for the last years!

Found this on TA; we visit brewpubs and craft beer bars from CZ to NZ! So when we saw this, we knew we were going here. BTW Sintra was GREAT. Beautiful, refreshing, gorgeous architecture and history... anyway, this place is easy to find; there...are signs right by the palace; unassuming, only a couple outdoor tables. couple of tips they share the tables with the shop next door. ?next, cash only! My wife had to leave me as collateral while she went to find an ATM. Now, we sat in the back, in the kitchen, which we wanted, right by a window with a nice view of the city. Our waiter Pedro aka Turtle was fantastic. His english was terrific. I think he worked at a nearby Brewery and helped at Villa Craft. I was a little confused whether Villa actually brewed its own beer; i believe it does but not on premise. There were 5 beers and a cider available on tap and they had a sampler so we tasted all of them as well as another bottled IPA. Now, I've tasted over 3300 beers in my database. Several of these were terrific. I hope I don't hurt anyone's feelings in Portugal. Anyway, the Red Ale by Perfect Peaks was, well....not the best of the 6. The three offerings from Rafeira were good to excellent. Although we prefer NEIPA's and lagers, the Orange Stout and the Belgian Strong Ale (Drunk Pear) were world class. The Pato PIPA and the bottle of Rafeira Mosaic IPA were very good. The food was/were sort of filled sandwiches; various fish in superb bread, wood fired and memorable. We just sat in the back, looked at the view and enjoyed the kitchen (there were numerous cookbooks nearby that we perused); talked to Pedro, and really took our time. When my wife left to find an ATM and I waited there they gave me a gratis glass of beer. Already, without even seeing much scenery, Sintra was a success.
