The Co-op Natural Foods - Sioux Falls

It is a small co-op with all the things they come to love and expect, plus a deli with hot food to order labeled vegan. they had also labeled vegan options in bakery case. I have the sweet potato bowl and it was delicious. a perfect road stop.

Besides being vegan, we are very special about certain ingredients (gluten, soy, canola, msg, citric acid, vinegar etc.) we stopped while we were on a country trip in a rv. we were thrilled to find many of the brands we buy at home. they also had a reverse osmosis water system and we store with 10 gallons water. our only criticism was that everything was a little more expensive than it would be at home with us, and they had not taken much to themselves and went to eat what would have been nice for our trip. we were there on a Saturday, and their deli was closed that went open, perhaps had more options. Oh, and they don't sell any ice we needed for a cooler.

This is truly one of the best spots for natural food in Sioux Falls if you're looking for mini bistros and grab-and-go options! While their grocery selection is a bit limited, they offer an excellent variety of vegan products. The highlight is undoubtedly their bistro, which often features all-vegan weeks with a hot food menu full of entirely plant-based meals. They also have a selection of ready-to-eat vegan meals that you can simply heat up later. My personal favorite is the vegan tofu popcorn chicken, which reminds me of something I loved as a kid—having a vegan version is fantastic! My husband and I were traveling cross-country from the East Coast to Mount Rushmore, and this Co-Op was the perfect place to stock up on all our vegan essentials. We stopped there on our way out and then again on our return trip after spending four days in South Dakota. Walking in felt like a breath of fresh air! I found everything we needed to maintain a healthy, organic, vegan diet throughout our journey. The staff behind the counter were the same both times we visited, and they were friendly and knowledgeable. Sioux Falls is truly lucky to have this little gem!

I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Sioux Falls, a city with few vegan-friendly options, boasts a co-op that's even better than many I've encountered in larger cities. This place is truly a hidden gem, especially considering they've been honing their craft since 1973. They offer all the typical health food store essentials, and for a store of its size, their organic produce section is impressively extensive. There's also a cozy café and a selection of healthy prepared meals available. When I'm traveling through a place without any vegan restaurants, I always check the local health food store for takeout options, and this co-op did not disappoint. They offered delicious quinoa salads, Asian salads, and hearty, healthy meals that were both tasty and satisfying. Overall, I was really impressed. Sioux Falls is fortunate to have such a wonderful establishment!
