We walked past this spot to use the public restroom at the end of the block. It was such a cute shop and we could smell the food from outside. The gentleman inside were very nice and friendly. They went over the menu with us and we decided to have lunch here. We ordered the reindeer sausage, beef burger, and Mac cheese. We were also very excited by the desserts but we planned on coming back inside to order coffee and treats after we ate lunch. Honestly the food was nothing to be excited about. The burger had this really pale color for beef kinda almost looked like a Turkey burger, the reindeer sausage was good but nothing special, and the Mac cheese was sooooo disappointing. It was what appeared to be instant Kraft Mac cheese with some pepper in it to spice it up a little. Our lunch was edible but so un-impressive that we decided to get coffee and sweet treats somewhere else. To the owners (who I think I dealt with inside) I know you can do better! I really loved the shop and the service you just have to do something about your food. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
Like so many others, our group was in Skagway as a part of a cruise. The initial address led us to their old location where we found the note leading us around the corner. There was a small crowd inside taking in their offerings and deciding on what to order. We were there for hot dogs and we ordered via a sheet of paper, circling what we wanted and then handing it to the cashier. Afterwards, we went around back to a lovely covered patio that looks over the park and playground next door. The food came out relatively quickly and this is where things went really down hill. I had ordered a hot dog with chili and cheese. The chili and the cheese each were $1 extra. As you can see from the picture attached, the toppings were pitiful. While our group was lamenting things, someone from the table next to us looked over and said that looks so sad. I get that everyone has bad days but for someone in the kitchen and then a server to look at those hot dogs and think yes, people will be glad they paid for this! is silly. The hot dogs themselves tasted fine. I enjoyed the rare bite that had a singular shred of cheese or the taste of where chili once was. The buns were soft, too soft, as the hot dog fell through by the second bite. Coulda been a bad day for Bites on Broadway but I probably wouldn 't return.
We 're from Hawaii, and was on our 7day/7night Princess Cruise to Alaska. We took a side street to purchase liquids. We found a hidden gem called: Bites on Broadway. WOW!!! What a wonderful experience we had there. The owners were filled with the same Aloha Spirit that we are accustomed to here in Hawaii. The food was great, the desserts were incredible, but, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The conversation was authentic loving. Turns out, this was the BEST spot we experienced while off-shore. It is truly sad that the busses that take you around the city, will tell you that Star Bucks or some other watering hole is on the main street. But, the BEST watering hole is located at the end of town, hidden down a street. I 'm soooo glad we found Bites on Broadway even more elated to meet two great guys who are so authentic loving. So, if you are REAL, and love to meet FANTASTIC people, please go check out our newest members of our Family at Bites on Broadway inSkagway, Alaska! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
