The Orchid - Skerries

I spent just under €70 yesterday at this restaurant and ordered a beef satay and a chicken satay. Unfortunately, they were the worst I've ever had - some of the chicken in the satay had batter on it. Both satays were watery and slopped all over the plate, overflowing. It was the first time I've ever needed a spoon to eat satay. I was not impressed, as the food is usually fairly decent, although I'm not a fan of the curry.

This was my first time dining at this restaurant. I have dined here previously when it had a different name. The starter was good, but the beef main dish was disappointing. It did not taste like beef at all, and according to the waitress, it was steamed from frozen. The dish lacked flavor, had a terrible texture, and was not enjoyable. The ice cream dessert was icy, as if it had been re-frozen multiple times. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

I am extremely disappointed with this restaurant. I have not ordered from here in about two years due to a terrible delivery experience. I decided to give it another try tonight, but after waiting 90 minutes for my order, I called and was informed that my food had not even been started and would take another 40 minutes to finish, not including delivery time. I decided to cancel my order as waiting nearly three hours for a takeaway is simply not acceptable. There are much better takeout options with superior service available locally.

Myself and my wife were in this restaurant saturday 31st july, and the food was reasonable and nice. i was a bit annoyed however on paying the bill, to find that the 27.50 bottle of wine we got was charged at 32.50. when i queried this, i was told i was charged for the wrong wine, even though the bottle i ordered was the dearest available. maybe it was a genuine mistake, but if the dearest bottle of wine is 27.50, surely someone should have seen the mistake before taking my money.

I GIVE THE LEF IN SKERRIES NO STARS... The Lef in Skerries has to be the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever been to. I went there a couple of weeks ago with my family. It was my twins 15th birthday that's where they wanted to go. We were the only 5 people in the restaurant, but we waited nearly 20 mins for the waitress to take our order. It then took another 35 mins for starters! Then another 30 mins for the main after she cleared the starter plates away. When we finally got the mains and put our dishes on the rice it was like eating a spoonful of salt. The rice was pickled in salt. That was the final straw. Will never go back there again.
