Dickey's Barbecue Pit - Slidell

The triple meat plate was absolutely worth it. Everything was flavorful and fresh. The restaurant was very clean, and parking was easy to find. The service was top-notch, and the portion sizes were just right. They even provided extra BBQ upon request, all handled with a great attitude! The servers truly deserve recognition for going above and beyond to make my visit enjoyable.

This is the best barbecue I've had in the last 30 years. The flavors are exceptional, the food is cooked to perfection, and the prices and selection are great. The brisket is the best I've ever tasted, and I've lived in Texas for six years. It's a wonderful little spot here in Slidell.

I am honestly quite disappointed with our recent order. We had the 3 meat plate, which included brisket, pulled pork, and jalapeno cheddar sausage, along with BBQ baked beans and mac and cheese. We also got a classic sandwich featuring jalapeno cheddar sausage and a side of onion crispers. We had ordered through DoorDash over a week ago and everything had been so delicious that we decided to order again. Unfortunately, this time, the brisket and pulled pork were so dry that we had to throw them away. Such a letdown.

This was my first visit. For starters I feel like the potential is there and could eventually be a 5 star place to eat but let me tell you why I am not sure yet. I placed an online order for pickup for an hour later( I promise they made the food as soonas I placed my order and it sat there for an hour. I live 3 miles from this location my food shouldn't be this cold. My 2sandwiches were not made correctly. The other to plates were good except cold. For the price and simplicity of my order itshould have been done correctly. Buyer beware....check check check your order 100% and make sure it is fresh and hot andaccurate.

The smoked meats were very good but a bit on the salty side. No baked potatoes but most sides seemed to be pressed, most likely off-site. Staff was very courteous. Portions were generous. Adult beverages were not available. The food was good for theprice. I would really rate this place at 3.76 stars but it isn?t an option at this time.
