Sal's Pizza - Smithfield

Absolutely the best crab cake salad! We were already fans of the pizza, but now the crab cake salad has won us over too! They do an excellent job of diversifying their menu. If you're a fan of authentic pizza, made in the traditional way, you'll really enjoy Sals! Service was great during our dinner.

I ordered food for pickup 20 minutes before closing and didn't know their close time. I worked in a restaurant so I know last minute orders are annoying so I call to cancel. The lady on the phone was nice and said it was okay and they take orders until 9pm on the dot. I should have known better. Whoever made my food dumped garlic over it so much it was like biting into a garlic clove. I have a stomach condition so this was like unintentionally poisoning me. I will be talking with a lawyer and have frozen the plate as evidence. Im out $65. $25 for the food and pretip. $40 for the medicine I have to buy. I used to recommend your restaurant for its top quality italian food. Even though this was a joke I grew up in this town and well known to thousands of people. Every person I meet is going to hear this story of how you intentionally messed with my food.

The pizza is incredible, and the rest of the menu looks great—we're excited to try more dishes. The chocolate cake is truly divine!

I ordered a pizza tonight. I requested that onions be added. They said no problem. Got home, no onions and the pizza dough was like rubber. It was impossible to cut. I had ask for a thin crust, but they said that did not do thin. This dough was about as thin as it could be and tough. To add insult when I called I ask for a manager and held for 15 minutes. When I called two hours later I ask for the manager. I am pretty sure I did not speak to a manager even though I ask her specifically if she was the manager. She paused a minute and said she was a manager. She did say she was sorry and offered me a coupon. I have gotten pizza here before and it was ok. Tonight, not ok.
