Excellent fish and chips! Accompanied by lemon & tarter sauce and they do have malt vinegar. Chips were cooked to perfection. My guest had a bowl of thick soup that was declared 'very good'' & an egg sandwich. Pie for dessert was very nice. All of the food was delicious and the service was excellent. People next to us were having burgers and they said they were very good. We'll go back.Check their hours though so you won't miss out.
My family and I went for lunch on the weekend on a whim and wound up at Barbs. All 4 of us were pleasantly surprised at the food and service.Breakfast was delicious! Large portions and very cheap, which is what my husband and I ate. My little girl had a poutine which came with real curd (her fav.) And a homemade gravy. She dubbed it the best she's ever had and couldn't wait to eat her left overs for lunch the following day. My father had a soup and sandwich. He sang both their praises.I'm glad there is finally an all day breakfast within walking distance from home. We will be back!
I had looked online to find a restaurant in Gatineau for breakfast and came across this place with great reviews.
Every time I visited Canada over the past 50 years, I made sure to have breakfast at this restaurant. Despite its old building and lack of fancy decorations, the food was always excellent.
