Steak 'n Shake - Smyrna

In terms of taste, the food was pretty good and met my memories from the past. Our order was served quickly. However, I noticed that the menu has been cut back and simplified. Some of the specialty burgers I used to enjoy were missing, and there were also fewer milkshake options. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with the milkshake I received. As for the service, we’ve lost the enjoyable atmosphere that used to be present. It just felt boring, almost like a typical fast-food joint, lacking the charm it once had. The personal interactions that made dining here special have been replaced by a system where you order on a screen and just wait for your number to be called. The employee who called out our number was kind, but I forgot to catch her name to give her the credit she deserved. Overall, the food was good, but the experience just isn’t what it used to be. My friends and I have decided we won’t be returning to Steak 'n Shake since we miss the personal touch.

The employees here go above and beyond with their service. This is the best Steak 'n Shake around! They are incredibly friendly, quick, and the food is delicious. I heard the cheese dispenser has been broken for a month, but they still manually poured the cheese sauce for me. They all deserve recognition and the highest respect!

The food was hot, fresh and delicious. milkshakes were so thick that you had to use a spoon. as we like them. very friendly staff.

Steak and Shake is nothing like it used to be. I visited for the first time in several years, and it’s now just a stripped-down version of what it once was. The restaurant was clean, but it felt very bare. The food was decent, but the overall experience was lacking. There were no waitstaff; only about four people working in the kitchen. There are no cashiers—everything is done through kiosks, from ordering to payment, with no table service at all. Overall, it was an unremarkable and quite bland experience. I don’t think I’ll be going back.

Great burgers. The closest thing to In-N-Out that exists east of TX. This Steak 'N ' Shake is slower than other locations, which is why I only gave it four stars, but it 's the same great food and friendly service that you expect from Steak 'N ' Shake.
