Birkholm's Bakery Cafe - SOLVANG

We have been here for years; but it's the first time we've been back since the pandemic. We were a party of 5 and we had bought lunch bags. They offered sandwiches and soup on the menu the prices were appropriate. Food and service were very good. The café has indoor and outdoor seats.

So... I was there a few days and had pastirs somewhere else, and this place had by far the freshest pasties we had down there while there. and the staff so attentive and super nice. Place has a great story behind it! We left with boxes of baked goods to bring home and even freeze one. We enjoyed our visit there and learn about the story about them, the 75 years ago I started beleive . Take a look in and enjoy a pastry.. Remember that everyone has different tastes .. get what looks delicious!

A bazillion bakeries in town, but I visited them based on the Rave reviews. The place is sweet, clean and has a lot of seats on the right side. It was not busy (Monday, after Easter), but I can imagine that this place is packed on weekends. The beasts all looked incredibly delicious, but I couldn't try them all? I bought a almond cake and another almond thing. I can't remember the name. The tart was amazing, the other one was... okay. I wish I had more time to spend there, and rooms in my stomach to try them all.

This is a nice bakery that we decided to try based on Google reviews. We ordered the Vanille Chai, but it was just okay— they use a specific powder to make it, so it doesn't taste authentic at all. There are many baked goods to choose from. I tried the bear claw and the cream doll; they were good, but I felt they could have been even better if they had been served warm.

I wish I could give more stars to this place! The aroma is absolutely captivating, and that's what drew us in. There was a long line to order pastries and drinks. However, the drinks were nothing special; they just used a mix to prepare the vanilla chai we ordered. The pastries looked fantastic in the display, but unfortunately, they were served too cold. While they tasted good, I would have preferred them at room temperature for a better experience. Additionally, there's a need for improvement in hygiene; there were flies everywhere, and the staff wasn't wearing masks. Sadly, I don't think I'll be returning.
