Mortensen's Danish Bakery - SOLVANG

LRUL Mortensen is a delightful little taste of Denmark right in California. This charming pastry café, located in the heart of Solvang, offers authentic and buttery pastries made with traditional recipes and the finest ingredients. I highly recommend their mouthwatering fluffy pastries, all-butter shortbread, and real whipped cream desserts, such as the Napoleon and chocolate eclairs – a true treat for anyone with a sweet tooth! I'm particularly fond of their pistachio cupcakes and apricot cream; both are excellent choices. This café has certainly become my go-to spot in Solvang when my sweet cravings hit. I must also mention the friendly staff, who contribute to the welcoming atmosphere, even if it can get a bit noisy when the café is packed with tourists.

I absolutely love it! This is the best Danish bakery I've ever been to! The staff were friendly and took the time to explain everything to me. After trying the cinnamon roll and cookies, I ended up buying even more! I found them to be just the right level of sweetness—crispy and flavorful.

Excellent Danish bakery. Great choice. Fast service. We have a few articles: raspberry owl, cherry candy and chocolate almond candy. All were fabulous. I enjoyed my owl eye with an ear gray hot tea... perfection. We enjoyed live music from the Dana V Wines Terrace while we enjoy our goodies.

We were eager to sample traditional pastries in Solvang, and a friend recommended this bakery. We tried a few other places, but this one was by far the best. The customer service was excellent, and the pastries tasted incredibly fresh. My favorite was the square pistachio pastry, but everything we ordered was delicious! The outdoor seating was delightful, and the bakery is conveniently located near several restaurants and wine tasting spots.

Delicious pastries! We stopped here for breakfast after the half Marathon, and the pastries were such a great choice. Enjoyed sitting outside with a lovely outdoor seating area. Good black hot coffee too!
