The Windjammer Cafe Grille

I am a native, so I still think about windjammer as a “new” place. I am super busy in summer with my own business and often has to eat. I've eaten 4 or 5 times in the summer. always order something different and always happy. I learn to love it and recommend it to my customers looking for a restaurant in somers point that has no “bar” atmosphere. I describe it as a “upscale diner” and this is a high compliment when I love jersey diners. food is very good at a good price. good service.

Our first visit to the windjammer was great!!! You know you first walk into a place and you notice that a) it's packed and b) it smells delicious it's going to be a great experience. 4 out of 5 of us ordered pasta dishes which were very good and the 5th ordered the lamb shank which was a special) I tried his as well and it was delicious! We left with a ton of food as the portions were huge! 5 entrees 2 apps 2 alcoholic beverage 3 sodas all came to a very very reasonable price especially considering how much was left over. Save room for dessert. We didn't get to try it but looked at the display case on the way out and it looked marvelous! The atmosphere was comfortable and the service was great. Can beat that! Oh and they are hiring cooks if anyone is looking for a job ?

For people who are rejected from the dinner clubs of town this is a perfectly adequate and not overwhelmingly pleasing option.We ate food and drank beer.We left.

I had dinner earlier this evening here with my mother on our way home from the shore. We had Jamie as our server. She was very kind and attentive as our waitress. I was especially unnerved watching how she was being treated by two patrons seated to the left of us. She still remained calm and patient as the one patron was especially condescending to her. I can't say I would've done the same. Please keep in mind that service staff deserve to be treated with respect , thank you for giving us a nice experience Jamie.

Had a Great Breakfast here. Egg, Cheese, Broccoli. Hash browns and mixed grain toast. Recommend Great for Business Breakfast.
