I've been really impressed with my visits to Jo Sho. The first time I came, I came for lunch and ordered the chirashi bowl; the fish came in many varieties and were fresh and filling. The meal came with a salad and miso soup as well. The food came promptly so it's a great place to come during a lunch break! Today I came for their dinner service and I was not disappointed. We ordered a sashimi dinner $30) and a chicken katsu entree $17). The meals came with miso soup and salad with sesame dressing as well. The fish offerings on the sashimi platter again were super fresh and delicious. I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the fish. The katsu was juicy and tender with a lightly breaded outside. I can't complain we were thoroughly satisfied. Plenty of parking in the plaza and easy to access restaurant. I'll definitely be coming back soon!
Ordered a couple rolls and some Nigiri sushi for dinner. The white board at the bar had some specials, and the Barracuda sounded good, so I ordered a piece. They brought it to my table and the older chef told the waiter to bring it back; he took the barracuda off and said it wasn't fresh enough, and they didn't want me to have it. Appreciate him looking out for me! Fast service and decent prices for the area.
Despite all the rave reviews of this establishment's food quality, I have to give this place a low rating based on their service. We came on a Friday night to a semi-full restaurant. Our waiter waited a solid 20 minutes to serve us tea, and idly waited another 15 by the food counter before coming back to get our order (after he explicitly told us he would be right back). The couple next to us got served the wrong food on at least two occasions, and our waiter actually walked away from a woman as she was asking him a question. Our food took a while to come out as well. The pork and Vegetable dumplings were moist and juicy, but not worth what we paid for. Our pork cutlet and chicken teriyaki dishes were both on the dry side, with delicately flavored sauces and scant amounts of accompanying ingredients on the plate. All in all, the food was okay, but the prices and service left me gobsmacked. I sincerely hope they had an off night, as the other reviews seem to praise their food and quality of service.
I had chirashi and my bf sushi deluxe. They are both fresh and delicious. Service needs to be improved. The waitress seems like not happy.
This is an authentic Japanese restaurant. I ordered the Bento Box dinner, which included many different items that I had never tried before, and I truly enjoyed it. My table also tried the Chirashi Deluxe, and everything was fresh. You can’t beat the value for the price. I also had the oyster-don, which featured fried oysters that were cooked perfectly. My favorite dish of the night was the octopus sashimi; I could have easily finished the whole plate myself. I will definitely be coming back!
