Renee's Cafe - Somerville

Food was fine, and they were out of a lot of things on the menu. The laid back diner atmosphere was nice enough but I'm not planning to go backFood: 3/5

Place has really gone downhill. Food mediocre; owner hostile. Substantial price increase still not reflected on their menus (after over 6 months).

Just a warning, all of the main items we ordered were $3.50 more expensive than listed on the menu we received. Owner said she hasn’t had time to update the prices (although I see a review from 5 months ago saying the same thing). Nothing wrong with a price increase, but shouldn’t they at least inform customers beforehand? Nothing was said until we asked about the bill, and she seemed annoyed that I even asked.They had run out of a few options food was just average, but the server was nice. Unfortunately the owner at the counter gave the place a hostile feeling.

Wait staff is wonderful but management needs to be better. We couldn't get half the menu, which is not that big, because they ran out of food. You can't get breakfast without eggs, beacon, pancake mix, hash, smoked salmon, apples... The hours are also unreliable and not posted anywhere.

You always see a long line outside of RC's and for good reason. The food is top notch and super cheap. The real highlight is the portions though. They pile the food full plate and mile high. If you ever are super hungry please come here and you will be wildly satiated. This is what breakfast places dream of being when they grow up.
