CocoaPlanet has a beautifully designed building and garden. The owner provided an educational and impressive tour of the chocolate making area including machinery which she designed to insert flavor pearls into the chocolate discs. We enjoyed lunch (Chicken Caesar Salad and Quiche with Salad) and lingered over dessert which was so delicious Orange Cake with Chocolate Gouache. I hope to return and I recommend.
We had a wonderful lunch at Cocoa Planet. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was upbeat and relaxing. We will definitely be back!
We went to CocoaPlanet for lunch. Sadly, almost everything about it was awful: several items on the menu that we wanted to order were either not available or not as represented on the menu; the soup was watery and flavorless; the grilled cheese sandwich was cold and flavorless (two pieces of melted but congealed cheese on toasted, unbuttered white bread); the waitstaff was somewhat clueless and inattentive; the background music was so loud that we asked for it to be turned down (actually, we had to ask twice because the waitress forgot the first time); and once the restaurant filled up, it was so loud that we could barely hear ourselves think. Also, one would expect to be offered a tiny sample or two of chocolate after buying lunch (it 's also a tasting room, after all), but samples are only available for purchase. We truly hope CocoaPlanet can get its act together.
This is a little gem. Too bad that the sign in front is so small showing that it is a cafe. It looks like a chocolate factory. I think they need a different sign because the cafe is wonderful! We've been there twice and will definitely go back again!
