Welcome! The boss, dan, listen. very good value quality price. good location because right in front of the hotel we were. We had a pleasure with the fried lotion plate and the fried perigord and the nut cake!
Lime and cheap meals and the bosses are super nice, smiling to come and discover for yourself! You'll be happy! !!!
A stone's throw from the Gare De Souillac is the superb Chez Dany, a bar restaurant where I ate a much-needed dinner while staying at the Hotel Belle Vue across the road. It's very much a cafe format which means informal, lacking in pretension, and focussed on providing a simple menu but with great aplomb. Indeed it's one of those fabled French eateries that are both cheap but also excellent quality. The kind that many seasoned French visitors eulogise about but are impossible to find these days. Well, at last, I found one! It gets better; if you sit on the terrace, you get a panoramic view of the Dordogne Valley to enjoy as you eat your dinner. The menu is necessarily limited to basic snacks, a selection of omelettes, and a few main meal combos, all classically french, of course. A pleasant lady proprietor presides over service, ensuring that everything was to your liking and the food and drink is with you quick smart. I selected a fulsome option of confit duck, foie gras, local cheese, well-seasoned melon salad, and a surfeit of frites all washed down with one of those uncomfortably strong French beers. I'd had a difficult day dealing with a car breakdown on the A20, so I felt I deserved this feast and set about it with a ravenous fervour. And very good it was too, all for a reasonable 16.50€. It was a bit of a bargain, all told. This little gem was the silver lining I needed on a stressful day that I wouldn't want to repeat. Although, maybe at that point, my personal Boethius wheel had finally turned for the better, which is more than I can say for the wheels on my car. Soon after, I fell exhausted into one of the adjacent Hôtel Belle Vue's comfortable beds.
Friendly service, a warm welcome and good straightforward food. Nice outside area to sit and enjoy the scenery.
