Caravia Fresh Foods - South Abington

Specialty food store with a deli counter in back, mostly serving sandwiches and salads. I thought this looked like an interesting lunch spot while on the road and was very happy with it! There was a little bit of a line, but the wait for our sandwiches wasn't too bad, and the people were nice. I had an Eggplant Banh Mi, filled with a very delicious combination of breaded eggplant, veggies, herbs, and spicy mayo sauce. I would point out the elements of the sandwich that mostimpressed me, but it would just be a list of the ingredients since it was all so good. My sandwich was about $8.50 which I think was a fair price it wasn't huge but was a good size for me. They have a freezer of single serve importedItalian frozen desserts which all looked appealing, and I grabbed a Pistacchio e Crema gelato cup, swirls of vanilla and pistachio gelato with chocolate sauce and chopped pistachio topping. Good stuff and not too heavy! Their groceryselection is small but it looks like they have some good stuff, like pasta (some in more uncommon shapes), jarred Italian sauces and vegetables, and Italian snacks. Plus it looks like they have a good produce section.

Small space, but packed with specialty, organic, and international goods. Their deli is great as well I had their North Side Italian sandwich (bread alone is incredible) and a frozen pistachio mousse (pics of freezer below). There is no seating available, it is just a takeout deli counter. They do have call ahead and pickup available as well.

Caravia is our go to place about five out of seven days a week. We love the food behind the counter, all the salads are made fresh every day, everything is very healthy, organic and so tasty. Their homemade soups are excellent also. We have often ordered catering dishes for our larger parties and family gatherings. Their homemade lasagna and Caesar salad can make a family gathering as easy as a phone call. Everything is delicious and the customer service is impeccable. Wehighly recommend!!

Good was great. Ordered ahead with chow now, and it wasn't ready for us when we got there, nor did we get a second email. They were sure to make it quick for us as we waited. Many specialty items and good selection of drinks, and deserts. Small place, no sitting in, a few outdoor seats and nice staff. Even the young girls behind the counters and register were very pleasant.

While I have had good interactions with this store before this was ny far worst customer service I've ever experienced ordered ahead and still had to wait half an hour for my food to be ready.... finally gave up after being asked the issue by four different people only to get no resolve..the owner [who was a complete tool] finally came out to rectify the issue and had an attitude the entire time. Never apologized for the situation and made excuses and after the interactionwas done walked away with out a word. You money is better spent somewhere else not worth it. If that's how they treat thier customers. Just because I don't look like you ideal customer doesn't mean I deserve to be treated with little to norespect. Do better.
