Often stop for coffee/tea and muffin or scone when shopping. High quality food at very reasonable price. Sometimes have soup at lunchtime- also good.
We popped in here for a light lunch, ordered a toasted sandwich and a coffee each. The cafe was relatively quiet but most of the empty tables hadn’t been cleared and there was food on the floor around these tables. The ones that were clear were sticky and dirty. We eventually found a table that had just been wiped down turned out to be wobbly. The food was ok but very uninspiring and instantly forgettable. Also the gents toilet was dirty and stunk to high heaven.....yuk yuk yuk
I used to be a fan of this coffee area inside tk maxx Ayr. On this visit half the cafe is chaired off to stop us sitting where we are comfortable. It is an hour and twenty before closing and it has 20+ customers. Staff seem annoyed. Will use again because it’s handy. Coffee ok.
I have been to this cafe many times as it’s handy. Yesterday I went with my son at lunchtime, there were a lot of people waiting to be served but only one lady available and she looked quite stressed. I ordered a tuna melt sandwich which came with a side salad, when the food arrived I saw that the side salad was simply just chopped cheap lettuce with a drizzle of dressing see photo) there was no tomato or cucumber, not very appetising, maybe they are trying to keep costs down as it never used to be like this. They could do with some extra staff as well to serve and clear tables.
