Caprice - South Ayrshire

We visited on an impromptu visit to Prestwick (3 adults, 2 children and a dog). Both the service provided (throughout our time at the bar/restaurant) and the food was also very nice (freshly made). When visiting I would definitely return.

Over priced with zero atmosphere, we were only in for drinks. 4 pints came to £24!! Walked 50 yards down the road into smugglers and it was £14 for 4 pints and a tremendous atmosphere. 1 pint of San Miguel in caprice is over a fiver yet a pint of the same lager is £2 something in the pioneer. I don’t mind paying extra if the establishment is worth it and can make up for it in other ways but I’m afraid caprice hasn’t changed a bit in 20 years! It has now established a reputation for being overpriced with a lack of atmosphere as it’s always the least busy on the street.

Was in. Caprice last week, great service and food Cocktails were unreal. Can recommend the cocktails (anyone) and the fillet steak was perfect Many thanks guys

My daughter, granddaughter, and I went to Caprice for lunch on 28/12/23. We ordered a child's burger and chips, two southern fried chicken sandwiches, a tuna sandwich, and chips. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The burger was dry and unappetizing, and the chicken sandwiches only had a few small pieces of burnt chicken on them. The salad was brown and unappetizing, and the chips were greasy and not well-prepared. The tuna sandwich was okay but lacked flavor. Overall, the food was the worst I have ever been served. It was no surprise that the restaurant was empty. Despite the poor meal, the young girl who served us was kind and apologetic. Sadly, we will not be returning to Caprice.

The Caprice used to be one of my favorite restaurants in town, but last night's meal was terrible. My wife's fajita was burnt and came with three oversized, cold tortillas. The toppings (cheese, salsa, and guacamole) were extremely small, and the salsa was like jelly. My crepe looked good but was only lukewarm. There was no check on satisfaction until we were paying. I told the staff that, as a regular customer for over 20 years, this was the worst meal we had ever had at The Caprice. Unfortunately, the manager had already left for the day, and the remaining staff showed little interest in my feedback. There wasn't even an apology. The standards have been declining for some time, so we have decided to dine elsewhere in the future.
